In previous years the Maldives and some of its resorts have been awarded with high placements in several categories and the 2010 Award ceremony was no exception to the rule.

The Maldives was voted the world’s third best island destination, after only Hong Kong and Sicily.

The Spa, One&Only at Reethi Rah was awarded as runner-up in the category of the best overseas hotel Spas and the Four Seasons Resort at Landaa Giraavaru became the runner-up in the category of the best overseas leisure hotels in the Middle East, Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands.

The Maldives placed twelfth in the general category, reconfirming its position as a truly exceptional travelling destination.

Ms. Sarah Mahir, Political Affairs Officer and Ms. Janna Berggren, Media and Political Affairs Assistant attended the 13th Readers’ Travel Awards ceremony held last night at The Royal Institution of Great Britain.

One of the most popular travel magazines in the UK, Condé Nast Traveller first started publishing in 1997, and the travel magazine has an annual circulation of 85,000.
